Full House.

We keep chasing "affordability" in cities like Vancouver, but we’re chasing a ghost. The "dream" of homeownership isn't a natural human milestone - it’s a post-war marketing campaign. It was manufactured in the 1950s to jumpstart a stalled economy and sold to us through sitcoms like Full House. We were taught that happiness is a white picket fence and a 30-year mortgage, and that anything less is a failure.

It’s time to deconstruct that propaganda. You don’t need a deed to a plot of land to be successful, and you don’t need a mortgage to secure your future. There are other ways to build wealth and find stability. We need to stop letting 70-year-old commercials and outdated TV tropes define our worth. It’s time to define success on our own term - not the bank's.
